Christina Aguilera About Britney Spears Awkwardly Dodged an Interview Question

Be it 1999 or 2023, the names Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have persistently been intertwined or, regrettably, set in opposition. These pop stars have evolved into multifaceted icons over their extensive careers, and their presence in the entertainment world remains unwavering. Both artists are currently engaged in fresh and captivating endeavors. Britney is set to release her memoir, titled “The Woman In Me,” scheduled for October 24th, while Christina is preparing for her inaugural Las Vegas residency at The Venetian Resort’s Voltaire Belle de Nuit, set to debut this December.

During her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Xtina was questioned about Britney’s upcoming memoir. Jimmy inquired, “You know, Britney Spears has a memoir coming out. Do you think you will be in it? Has she called you and said, ‘Hey, heads up, there’s a chapter about you’?” To this, Christina responded, “Dude, I don’t know.”

Jimmy followed up with another question: “Are you hoping that you’re in it?” The accomplished singer known for “Beautiful” skillfully sidestepped the question, perhaps because it wasn’t directly related to her own project. Instead, she expressed her well-wishes for Britney, saying, “I don’t know. I mean, I’m hoping that everything is all good with her and everything’s beautiful. I think the future should be celebrated.”

After her heartfelt response, the late-night host prodded a bit further, asking, “If you had to choose between being in it and not being in it…?” This prompted laughter from Christina and the audience.

In response, Christina gave Jimmy a playful side-eye, saying, “For real?” Before he could respond, she admitted that she would prefer to be mentioned in the memoir, saying, “Maybe you will be in it! You know what, let’s put it this way—I’d rather it be you than me.”

Christina Aguilera made a stunning appearance for her interview on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday, October 16. The singer donned a striking black satin top with a daring, plunging neckline, perfectly paired with high-waisted spandex pants. Her ensemble was complemented by open-toed heels and stylish layered necklaces. As she left the studio, Xtina also sported chic sunglasses.

During her conversation with Jimmy Kimmel, the talk show host inquired if Christina had spoken with Britney Spears regarding the pop star’s upcoming memoir, “The Woman in Me.” Christina laughed off a question about whether she’d be mentioned in the book but expressed nothing but positive sentiments about Britney.

“I’m hoping that everything is all good with her,” Christina remarked. “Everything’s beautiful. The future should be celebrated.”

Jimmy persisted with the topic, pressing Christina on whether she’d prefer to be included in the book or left out. He candidly expressed his desire to be mentioned, to which Christina responded with laughter, saying, “Maybe you will be in it. Listen, I’d rather it be you than me.”

The history between Britney and Christina is indeed complex, stretching back to their shared days on The All-New Mickey Mouse Club in the early 1990s. Subsequently, both women launched their pop music careers in the late ’90s and were frequently subject to media comparisons and competition.

Rumors of a feud between Britney and Christina escalated after their joint VMA performance with Madonna in 2003. In a subsequent interview with Blender, Christina described Britney as a “lost little girl” in need of guidance, sparking a public exchange. Britney fired back, expressing disbelief at Christina’s comments and accusing the “Beautiful” singer of not being genuine.

By 2008, Christina offered an apology for her past remarks about Britney, and it appeared that they had reconciled. She also expressed support for Britney during the latter’s struggle to end her conservatorship in 2021. Christina condemned the mistreatment and lack of support faced by those trying to control their own destiny and concluded by sending her heartfelt support to Britney.

Tensions seemed to resurface in September 2022 when Britney made a comment on Christina’s weight on Instagram. However, she later apologized and stated that Christina was an inspiration to her.

Whether Christina will be mentioned in “The Woman in Me,” set for release on October 24, remains to be seen.
