“Hopkins County Chamber Connection” for October 17

We’re just a fortnight away from the grandest event in Hopkins County every year, the 54th Annual Hopkins County Stew Festival, and you can secure your tickets today.

Admission tickets are priced at $8 for attendees aged 13 and over. This year, thanks to the generous sponsorship from Signature Solar, children aged 12 and younger can enjoy their meal for free; however, they must still obtain a ticket for entry.

  • How to Get Tickets: You have multiple options to purchase your tickets:
  • Online: Buy them conveniently on HopkinsChamber.org.
  • In-Person: Visit the Chamber office located at 110 Main St.
  • At Local Financial Institutions: Tickets are also available at these financial institutions.
  • Alliance Bank, City National Bank, First National Bank of East Texas, Guaranty Bank and Trust, Pilgrim Bank, Red River Credit Union, and Texas Heritage National Bank.

Get Your Stew Festival Merchandise:** You can also pick up the official 54th Annual Hopkins County Stew Festival t-shirts at the Chamber office for only $25, available in adult sizes S-XXL. Additionally, there is a limited supply of hoodies, tumblers, mugs, and stickers.

This year’s festival is made even more special thanks to Signature Solar’s generous sponsorship, allowing children aged 12 and under to enjoy the festival for free. Remember, they still need a ticket, which can be obtained either online or through traditional paper tickets.

But the generosity doesn’t stop there. One Church is sponsoring the Fun Zone, featuring Gellyball, bounce houses, and kids’ games – providing free fun for children.

The excitement begins on Friday night, October 27, sponsored by City National Bank, featuring an appetizer contest and a concert by Dubb and the Luv Machines.

A big shoutout to all the sponsors who make the Stew Festival an affordable and delightful experience for families in Hopkins County. Be sure to follow the Chamber’s Instagram and Facebook accounts for spotlights on these fantastic sponsors and to stay updated on all the latest festival news.

The 16th Annual Help-A-Child Benefit is scheduled for Saturday, October 21, at the Hopkins County Civic Center. This event aims to raise funds for the Northeast Texas Child Advocacy Center and Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.

The schedule includes a Livestock Show at 9 a.m., the Ag Mechanic Show, and Silent Auctions starting at 11 a.m. Additionally, at 11:30 a.m., there will be a chili and brisket lunch available for $10, featuring all-you-can-eat options.

This is an informal networking event and happy hour, and you don’t need to be a Chamber member to join us. Come and enjoy the camaraderie!

Don’t miss out on the chance to get a free mammogram through the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation’s Free Mammography Clinic! Appointments are filling up quickly, but there are still a few openings. If you’re an uninsured woman over 40 years of age residing in Hopkins County, you are eligible for this valuable program.

The clinic will be held at the Ruth & Jack Gillis Women’s Center, part of CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs, on three Saturdays in October: 14, 21, and 28. National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is in October, making it the perfect time for an annual mammogram. Remember, one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, and the risk increases with age.
